  • I have been challenged recently with this thought: Is there something in your life that you think you can't live without? Something that you "have to have," or something that you let control you? If there is, give it up. See if you can live without out it for 2 weeks, and in the meantime, spend that time filling your life with God, and asking him to meet that need in your life.

My roommate was watching tv last night, and she kept yelling at her boyfriend to be quiet so she could hear her show. She thinks that she has to watch that show. She's so engrossed in it that she ignores the people around her, and is even unkind to them. I hope she realizes some day that she CAN live without tv.

I am dependent on coffee. I love it, and I drink it every single day. But I'm giving it up for two weeks, because I think that instead of being dependent on coffee, I need to be solely dependent on God, and look to him to satisfy my needs.

What will you give up? Do you think you can't live without your iPhone? Put it away for 2 weeks. Do you think you just couldn't live without your music or iPod? Listen to the silence for 2 weeks. Think you just can't miss your favorite show? Unplug the tv, and read your bible instead, and spend time actually talking to the people that are around you. God can teach you so much when you step out in faith and trust that He WILL provide for your needs.

  • It astounds me every time, that when I pray for something sincerely and with a desire to do God's will, He ALWAYS answers. My God is ever faithful, and ever powerful.

Yesterday morning, I prayed for an opportunity to share my faith with the girls on campus; last night I went to Campus Crusade, and God provided an incredible opportunity to work with another girl and share God's love with the girls here on campus. Girls are the minority here, and Christian girls are an even greater minority. I am so excited to be used by God in this way.

Pray with a sincere heart and a desire to do His will, and His will only. Prepare to be amazed at what He will do with one willing heart.

    In His grace and peace,
    Renee

  • Success...success, not greatness, is the only god the entire world serves.

I think I've been asleep most of my life.

[and in my own words]....I'm engaged to my best friend, the man of my dreams, and God is continually blessing my life through him. Thank you God for your love, and for choosing the show me that love through a wonderful man like Jarrod. I truly don't deserve it.
